The experienced course team recognise the importance of helping to build the skills, qualities and knowledge to enable graduates to make an immediate impact on employers and develop a successful career. To reinforce this, industry professionals have provided valuable input into the course to ensure that the theory and practice taught help develop key employment skills.

Previous students have had the opportunity to either study abroad at one of our partner institutions and experience a different culture, or undertake a work placement, exposing them to the industry and gaining valuable work experience.

Students have also previously benefitted from guest lectures delivered by travel and tourism industry professionals, providing up-to-date and first-hand knowledge of the industry.

Southampton’s location on the south coast means that students can take advantage of the University’s links with Carnival UK, Southampton International Airport and international tourist attractions such as Beaulieu National Motor Museum in the New Forest National Park. These links also have also provided past students with a variety of case study material in the sector.
