This course is designed to support both recent graduates and experienced engineers in developing their understanding of the critical role maintenance plays in a modern manufacturing operation. You will study the latest practices and technologies that can be used to enhance equipment availability and thus improve productivity and efficiency.

You will receive tuition in the basic topics related to maintenance and get the opportunity to enhance your understanding of their significance, eg, through reflecting on given examples or experience from their workplace.

AMAP

Our Engineering team is engaged in a wide range of industry projects via AMAP including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and Consultancy. AMAP is also host to the North East Maintenance Forum (NEMF) – a quarterly meeting attended by a wide range of industrial representatives from a number of sectors including manufacturing, process industries and utilities. Several academics are also engaged in activities with Professional Engineering Institutions such as the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).
